NEW ZEALAND, World War II, small b&w photograph of three soldiers marked on reverse, 'Snowy Gillespie, Captain Harry/Barnett, 2nd L/T A.B.Cottrel (sic) M.C./Fuka,/Western Desert/Egypt/Xmas Day 1941'. Very fine.

Second Lieutenant (later Captain) Astley Bernard Cottrell was a member of 21 (Auckland) Infantry Battalion and was awarded a Military Cross on 19 March 1942. He was also a member of Jayforce 1945-48.
