TRENCH ART, a large timber shield with a brass shield attachment decorated at the bottom with two bullet cartridges, down through the centre is a swivelling decorated brass rod curved at the top and with provision for attaching a hanging artillery shell casing by Berndorf 1912, also marked on base 21, and with a suspension loop attachment in the centre. Very fine.

The shell was made at Berndorf in Lower Austria in 1912.
