CHINA, Han Dynasty, (202 B.C. - 220 A.D.), terracotta polychrome Hu jar with lid, the jar possesses a wide globular body supported by a short, wide, stout flat base, tapering int an elongated neck with a wide mouth, the lid has a slight dome shape, the meeting edges possess light turqoise bands, the body is split into 5 registers, both vessel and lid are decorated with abstract floral and Kui patterns. Pigment loss in areas, earthy deposits inside vessel, very fine.
