ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (272-235 B.C.), silver stater, (6.40 grams), obv. naked rider crowning stationary horse to right, Nike flying to right above crowning him from behind, below traces of **DAMOKRITOS, above to right EY, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to right, holding a cornucopiae and trident, to left monogram of **IWPV, **TAPA S below, (cf.S.374, Vl.919, cf.SNG ANS 1234). Very fine.
