ITALY, Bruttium, Croton, (c.300 B.C.), silver stater, (7.738 grams), obv. eagle standing to left on olive branch to left, wings opened and flaping, rev. tripod-lebes with neck and three handles, in field to left KPO, to right traces of heron, (cf.S.479, SNG ANS 368, SNG Lockett 627, Gale 52). Double struck on the reverse, otherwise very fine with attractive grey tone, rare.
