MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip II (359-336 B.C.), AE 16, uncertain Macedonian mint, (6.096 grams), obv. Apollo head to left with tainia, rev. naked youth on horse, above **FILOPPOU*, below lion's head to left, (cf.S.6698, SNG ANS 872-4, SNG Greece II [Alpha Bank] 371). Attractive brown tone, extremely fine and a rare symbol.
