MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.124 grams), Macedon 'Amphipolis' mint, issued c.323-320 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, star in circle to left, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 103, BMC 103a-c, M.153, Troxell Group F2, Demanhur Hoard 895-908). Light golden tone, minor graffiti on the reverse, otherwise good very fine/very fine and very scarce.
