MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.082 grams), Babylon mint, issued 311-305 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left **MTR* monogram in wreath, MI below throne, **BASILE[WS]* in exergue, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3746, BMC 3746a-d, M.734). Very fine.
