IONIA, Ephesos, Severus Alexander, (222-235 B.C.), AE 21, (4.975 grams), obv. bust of Severus Alexander to right, draped and cuirassed, around M AVP CEV H **ALEXANDRO*C, dotted border, countermarked 1, rev. Artemis the huntress to right seizing a fallen stag by the horns, around **E F E*CI**WN*, in exergue an eight pointed star, (S.-, BMC -, cf.SNG Cop. 421 [Caracalla], cf.SNG von Aulock 7880). Attractve patina, nearly very fine, a very rare type.
