AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE CANTEENS SERVICE, Canteen Order, two shillings, New South Wales issue, N554975/574845/579067, hand-stamped for Money Order Counter at Sydney, 16Aug1943/31Jul1943/28Aug1943', named in ink to '(No) 422296/(Name) Sgt WAG Reid R.A.L. ', all unused. Pin hole marks at left corner and some foxing, otherwise fine - very fine and scarce. (3)
422296 Sgt W.A.G. (Wireless Operator Air Gunner) Reid, R.A.L. (Ronald Arthur Lloyd), Sydney, NSW; Enl.26Apr1942 at Sydney, NSW; died 28Jun1944 as Flight Sergeant posted to HQ Middle East; recorded on the Roll of Honour at Asquith, Hornsby, NSW. In newspaper reports from the war, Flight Sergeant Reid was reported missing believed killed.
