THEODOSIUS II, (A.D. 402-450), gold solidus, Constantinople Mint, issued A.D. c.426-430, (4.39 g), 6th officina, obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust of Theodosius facing with spear and shield, around D N THEODO SIVS P F AVG, rev. SALVS REI PVBLICAES Theodosius and Valentinian enthroned facing, standing side by side both in consular robes, star above, CONOB in exergue, (S.21144, RIC 237). Very fine and rare.
