ITALY, Campania, Neapolis, (c.340-240 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, (7.41 g), obv. diademed head of the Nymph Parthenope right, rev. man-headed bull facing right, Victory flying above holding palm frond, ( cf.S.300, SNG ANS 368, BMC 69, SNG Cop. 436). Small flan struck slightly off-centre, attractive blue and grey tone with hints of purple all over, very fine and scarce.
