THRACE, Abdera, (386/5-375 B.C.), silver drachm or tetrobol (2.56 g), obv. griffin prancing to left, traces of ABD behind, rev. kantharos within outlined square, around on three sides, **EPIRO MNHM ONOS*, for magistrate Hiromnemon, (cf.S.1549, May 446 [these dies A300, P353, 19 known specimens], p.259 Pl.XX). Some porosity on obverse, otherwise very fine/good very fine and rare.

Ex Superior Auctions 9 December 1994 (lot 670) previously from the Thrace c.1986 hoard (Coin Hoards Vol. VIII, No.103).
