THESSALY, Pelinna, (c.last quarter 5th century B.C.), silver trihemiobol (1.46 g), obv. Thessalian cavalryman on horse to left, wearing short tunic, holding two long spears, dottted border, rev. Hoplite left, holding two spears and shield, **PE* below AINN right, (S.2165, BMC Thessaly pg. 38, 1; SNG Cop. 185, BCD 514 [Triton XV] [same dies]). Very fine, some encrustation, very rare.

Ex CNG eSale 65 (lot 14), 29 May 2003.
The BCD coin in similar Condition realised US1400 in January 2012.
