EPEIROS, Ambrakia, (c.360-338 B.C.), silver stater, (8,32 g), obv. Pegasos standing to right, A below, rev. helmeted head of Athena to left, head of river god Achelous facing (androcephalous bull), behind, (cf.S.1958, Calciati 88, Cammann (NN&M 53) No.1, Ravel 137 (NN&M 37), McClean 5098, BMC 19 [same dies]). Nearly extremely fine and very rare.

Ex Guido Bernardi, Trieste, January 8, 1998 with his ticket (cost 350 euros).
Ravel notes 11 examples all from the same dies, most of which are in public collections.
