SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D. 222-235), silver denarius (2.82 g), Rome Mint, issued A.D. 222-228, obv. laureate and draped bust of Severus Alexander facing right, seen from slightly behind, rev. Annona standing, facing, with head to left, holding corn ears and cornucopiae, a modius filled with corn ears to left (S.7857, RSC 23, RIC 133). Extremely fine and scarce.
