Raymond Thomas Walker, clerk, born 06Dec1918 at Sheffield, England; Enl.31Jan1942 at Melbourne, Vic in RAAF; mustering F/Sgt, W:Op, Air Gunner; served with 623 Sqn 12Nov-05Dec1943 and 149 Sqn 06Dec1943-23Apr1944; Killed in crash in Denmark on 23Apr1944 returning from Air Operations over Europe after aircraft damaged by anti-aircraft fire over target; buried in a communal grave at Svendborg General Cemetery, Svendborg, Denmark; Commemorated on the Roll of Honour at Essendon, Vic and the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour board.
