CNUT, (1016-1035 AD), silver penny (1.03g), quatrefoil type (c.1017-23), moneyer Adelphi, Leicester mint, obv. crowned bust left within well defined quatrefoil, single band to crown with three trefoils above, +CNVT REX ANGLORV around rev. long cross voided on quatrefoil with pellet at apex of each cusp, each limb terminating in three crescents, +ED ELPI ONLE HER (S.1157). Small 1mm flan crack in centre of crown, toned, good very fine.
