FRANCE, Louis XIV, in bronze (40mm) by Jean Mauger, medal commemorating Brest being made into a navel base, reverse plan of the fortified town and harbour, Neptune reclining right, key in left hand, right hand on dolphin, legend 'TUTELI CLASSIUM OCEANI', exergue, 'BRESTI PORTUS AT NAVALI M DC LXXXI'. Very fine.
