PRESENTATION SOVEREIGN, George V, 1912, Sydney, from Nuffield Australia Pty Ltd, in commemorative timber box with gold insignia and gold plaque, 'RT HON VISCOUNT NUFFIELD O.B.E / TO COMMEMORATE THE OPENING / OF NUFFIELD AUSTRALIA PTY LTD / VICTORIA PARK SYDNEY / MARCH 1950 / THE SOVEREIGN WAS UNEARTHED DURING / EXCAVATIONS FOR THE FOUNDATIONS'. Very fine and a rare commemorative item.

This sovereign was presented to George Alfred Lloyd CBE.

Nuffield Australia Pty Ltd was built on the site of Victoria Park Racecourse in Zetland, Sydney. The Morris Minor and Oxford cars were assembled there.
