JULIA DOMNA, wife of Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-217), silver denarius, issued 196-211, Rome mint, (3.538 grams), obv. draped bust to right of Julia Domna, around IVLIA AVGVSTA, rev. Cybele seated to left, flanked by two lions, around MATER DEVM, (S.1844, RIC 364 [Septimius], RSC 123). Weak in places, traces of hoard deposit, otherwise good very fine and scarce.
