Ex Status International Sale 379 (lot 20929) 25/2/23.^Charles Crawford Ferguson, born 08Sep1874 at Adelaide, Sth Aust; in service with A Battery Sth Aust Field Arty around 1895 as a Gunner at Adelaide Depot; to Lieut 26Sep1900; was one of 40 men from A Battery to volunteer for service in Boer War as Mounted Infantry; Emb.09Feb1901 with 5th Sth Aust Imp Bushmen's Contingent; Disemb.23Mar1901 at Port Elizabeth; amalgamated with 6th Sth Aust Imperial Bushmen about one month later; unit carried out continual sweeps, patrolling, scouting and fighting; RTA and arrived 27Apr1902; returned to duty with A Battery; last noted in Reserve of Officers 01Jul1921.^With research.
