PRIZE FOB, in gold (9ct; 2.68g; 32x22mm), reverse inscribed, "Squad Drill/Rfl Exce/1918./Sgt/Anschau. J." Very fine. Ex Smalls Auction lot 374 1/12/2018. Could be either father or brother (both named John) of the two Anschau brothers who served on the Western Front. Both served on Gallipoli - Gilbert Goldie in 1 FA and Cecil Edwin in 5 FA and Gilbert was KIA at Bullecourt. Father John was a Post Master at Parramatta and died 15 July 1967. Brother John was a chemist and later a stockbroker and received his brother's Gallipoli medallions. With research.
