JULIAN II, (A.D. 360-363), silver miliarense, Arles mint, issued A.D. 361-3, (3.650 grams), obv. diademed bust of Julian II to right, around D N IVLIAN VS P F AVG, rev. in wreath, VIRTVS EX ERCITVM, in exergue SCON, soldier standing right, holding spear and resting on shield, (cf.S.4059, RIC 290, RSC 71a [£800 VF]). Minor flan cracks, and striking flaw in edge, otherwise good very fine and very rare.
