MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip II - Alexander III, gold quarter stater, (2.14 g), 10mm, Pella Mint, (c.342-336/328 B.C.), obv. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress, dotted border, rev. kantharos above bow and club to left, [**F]ILIPPOU* below, (S.6668, Le Rider 58, SNG ANS 222 [same dies], HGC 3.1, 851 var. (placement of control). Very fine and rare.
