MACEDON, Kingdom of Philip III - Kassander, (323/2-315 B.C.), gold stater, (8.59 g), Amphipolis Mint?, in the name and types of Philip II, obv. head of Apollo to right with laurel wreath, rev. galloping biga to right, driven by charioteer holding kentron in right hand, reins in left hand, trident head downward below horses, in exergue **FILIPPOU*, (cf.S.6663, Le Rider 221 [D97/R175], SNG ANS - Hunterian 2 [same dies]). A few surface marks, struck in very high relief, good very fine and very rare with trident downwards.
