OTHO, (A.D. 69), gold aureus, issued 15 January / mid-April 69, Rome Mint, (7.26 g), obv. bare head to right of Otho, around IMP M OTHO CAESAR AVG TR P, rev. Securitas standing left holding wreath and sceptre, around SECVRITAS PR, (S.2152, BMC 13, RIC 7, C 16, Calico 531a). Two minor scuffs, otherwise good very fine or better with an attractive portrait of fine style, very rare.

Ex Anthony (Tony) Taylor Collection.^NAC Auction 105, lot 17. Previously the Michael L. J. Winckless Collection, privately sold through Spink & Son in October 2006.
