ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.330-290 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.84 g), obv. head of Demeter to left, rev. seven grain barley ear, leaf to right with pitchfork and **D*A, META to right, (cf.S.410, Johnston Class C, 5, HN Italy 1582). Toned, very fine and rare.
