SICILY, Syracuse, end of second democracy and Dionysos I, (c.410-405 B.C.), AE 17 hemilitron, (5.33 g), obv. head of Arethusa to left, I behind, rev. quadripartite incuse square, at centre incuse circle containing a star, (S.1185, Calciati II, S. 41, Em. 18, HGC 1481). Attractive olive green patination, nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
