MACEDONIA, Roman Protectorate, Republican period, First Meris, (c. 167-149 BC), silver tetradrachm, (16.67 g), obv. diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder in centre of Macedonian shield, rev. club within oak wreath, thunderbolt to left (BMC 7, HGC 3 1117). Well centred, attractive golden toning within devices, good very fine/ nearly extremely fine.

Private purchase from The Red House Antiques, York (13/5/13 for ?360) with a certificate of authenticity from Odyssey Antiques.
