THESSALY, Pharsalos, (3rd century B.C.), bronze trichalkon, (8.22 g), obv. three quarter facing head of Athena in Corinthian helmet, rev. helmeted cavalryman charging right on horseback, with a bird perched on helmet, footman brandishing flail behind, **S FAR* (HGC 4 646, Rogers 503-4, BCD Thessaly II 671.3-4). Even dark patina with chocolate highlights, very fine.
