KYRENAIKA, Kyrene, silver drachm, (c.500-480 B.C.), (3.48 g, Asiatic standard), obv. two Silphium fruit set base to base, pellet between, leaves at sides between, rev. facing head of lion within incuse square, (S.6244, BMC 38, SNG Cop 1172, Buttrey Coins Period I, Group 2, 87). Slightly granular surfaces, toned, very fine and very rare.
