KYRENAICA, Kyrene, (c.475-435 B.C.), silver hemidrachm, (1.59 g, Asiatic standard), obv. Silphium plant, rev. head of Zeus-Ammon right in dotted border within concave circle left, (cf.S.6263, SNG Cop. 1179 [drachm], BMC pl XL 56f, Buttrey Coins 92). Deep find patina, compact flan, nearly very fine and very rare.
