SYRIA, Seulucis and Pieria, Antioch ad Orontem, Nerva, (96-8 AD), silver tetradrachm (13.66g), RY 1 (96-7 AD), obv. laureate bust right, wearing aegis, **KAIS SEB AUT NEROUS*, rev. eagle standing on thunderbolt, wings spread, ETOUS NEOU IEROU*, A in right field (cf. S.948 [RY 2], Prieur 149; RPC 3476; SNG Cop 182). A pleasing portrait, boldly struck on an ovoid flan, extremely fine and rare thus, especially for year 1.
