EGYPT, Alexandria, Commodus, (177-192 AD), billon tetradrachm (11.72g), issued RY 30 of Marcus Aurelius (189/90 AD), pbv. laureate head of Commodus to right, [M A KOM ANTW] CEB EYCEB around, rev. eagle standing right on thunderbold, wings spread, LA to right (RCV 5934; Emmet 2523.30; Dattari 3905). Struck on a small flan, otherwise good very fine and scarce.
Ex S.J. Green Collection, purchased from Heritage Auctions 23175 (lot 64051). Previously in a slab by NGC as Choice VF (certificate number 425908-329).
