L. THORIUS BALBUS, (105 BC), silver denarius (2.51g), Rome mint, obv. Jupiter Sospita facing right, wearing a goat's skin, ISM.R behind. rev. bull charging right, control mark (P) above, L THORIVS below, BALBVS in exergue (Crawford 316/1; Sydenham 598; S.192). Well centered on a broad flan, choice very fine.

Ex S.J. Green Collection, purchased from Heritage Auctions 231725 (lot 64058). Previously in a slab by NGC as Ch VF (1884327-059).
