C. CASSIUS LONGINUS, (died 42 B.C.), denarius, issued Spring 42 B.C., military mint in the East (probably Smyrna), P.Cornelius Lentulus Spinther legate, (3.76 g), obv. C CASSI IMP around, tripod surmounted by cauldron, fillet hanging on either side, dotted border, rev. jug and lituus, below LENTVLVS SPINT, dotted border, (S.1446, Cr.500/5, Syd.1308, RSC 7, CRI 219). Minor scratch on reverse, well centred, lustrous extremely fine and rare.
