CALIGULA, (37-41 AD), in honour of his grandfather Agrippa, (died 12 BC), copper as (9.76g), Rome mint, issued 37-41, obv. head of Agrippa left, wearing rostral crown, M AGRIPPA L F COS III, rev. Neptune standing, facing, head left, wearing draped cloak, holding dolphin and trident, S C across fields (S.1812; RIC 58; BMCRE 161). Dark green patina, nearly very fine.
