TRAJAN, (A.D. 98-117), silver denarius (3.23g), Rome mint, issued 107-8 AD, obv. laureate head of Trajan facing right, drapery on far shoulder, IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P, rev. Danuvius (The Danube), naked to wast reclining left on rocks, cloak floating above, left arm resting on rocks, right hand of ship's prow, reeds flowing over left and right arms, DANVVIVS in exergue, COS V P P SPQR OPTIMO PRINC around (S.3138; RIC II 100; RSC 136). Lightly toned, minor deposits, nearly very fine and very scarce.
