Arthur Warren. Enl.8Feb1915. Twice W.I.A. 5Aug1916 & 26Aug1916. K.I.A. 9Oct1917 Belgium. No known grave, name commemorated on Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres. M.M.:L.G.11May1917. 'For conspicuous gallantry in command of a detachment of his platoon near Longatte on 20th March 1917. He organised his men under heavy fire, superintended the construction of cover and carried messages across the open under heavy fire to the report centre, giving a most valuable example of soldierly conduct under fire'. Mentioned in Beans Official History of W.W.W., Vol IV p.897,898. With some research.
