CONVICT LOVE TOKEN, engraved on a 1797 cartwheel penny shaved smooth on both sides, on one side is stipple engraved "George Armstrong/Chas Kitchen/1828" and on the other side is stipple engraved, a spray with the stipple engraved legend, "A Token Of Affection". Very fine.

George Armstrong, aged 20, carter/labourer, sentenced to 14 years in the colonies for theft of a silk handkerchief. Arrived in Van Diemen's Land on 28 July 1829. With research.
