AUGUSTUS, (27 BC - 14 AD), silver denarius, (3.55g), Lugdunum Mint, issued 2 BC - 4 AD, obv. laureate bust right, CAESAR AVGVSTVS DIVI F PATER PATRIAE around, rev. Caius and Lucius standing facing, togate and resting a hand on shield, a spear behind each, simpulum and lituus between, CL CAESARES AVGVSTI F COS DESIG PRINC IVVENT around (S.1597, RIC I 207, RSC 43, BMCRE 533). Lightly toned, struck on an oval flan, nearly very fine.
