PAEONIA, Kingdom of, Patraos, (c.340-315 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (12.718 grams), obv. head of Apollo to right, with laureate, rev. horseman spearing fallen enemy, who holds spear and shield, around below **PAT[RAOU], EM monogram to left, (S.1520, Paeonian Hoard 204-208 [same dies obv. 172, rev. 204]). Obverse off centred, otherwise good very fine and a scarce type.

Ex. Paeonian Hoard, Sotheby's, London, 16th April 1969 (probably lot 205). The Sotheby Sale of the Paeonian hoard (London, 16th April, 1969, had lots 204-8 from the same dies.
