ATTICA, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.530 grams), issued 146-145 B.C., (Thompson date) but probably 114-3 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, legend across **A QE, to left **DIO TI [MO]S, MAGAS* across **[NI] KWN*, all within wreath, (cf.S.2555, cf.Thompson 658-660); together with Egypt, Ptolemy II, Philadelphus, (285-246 B.C.), (13.856 grams), Sidon mint, struck year E = year 5 = and year 18 Macedonian era (268/7 B.C.), obv. diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, rev. eagle standing left on thunderbolt, letters in field **SI/IH* to left and E/monogram on right, (cf.S.7772, Sv.-); Characene, Attambelos IV (c.A.D. 100-150), copper tetradrachm, (14.824 grams), not dated (S.5926). First off centred on the obverse, otherwise fine, others very good - fine, the second an unpublished date.
