ANONYMOUS ISSUE Q, by L. Sulla, (c.81 B.C.), silver denarius, mint uncertain probably moving with Sulla, (4.145 grams), obv. Venus head to right, within dotted border, rev. Q below, double cornucopiae, dotted border, (S.303 [125 VF], Cr.375/2, Syd.755, B.Cornelia 33). Off centred, good very fine, very rare.
A total of less than 10 obverse dies has been calculated by Crawford for this type. A type that is very rare and was an emergency issue by Sulla in Italy produced in association with his military campaign at this time. The double cornucopiae on the reverse is a symbol of Fortuna.
