GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), AE sestertius, (20.6 grams), obv. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, laureate draped and cuirassed bust to right of Gordian III, rev. P M TR P V COS II P P, Apollo seated left holding branch resting hand on lyre, SC in exergue, (S.2500, RIC 303a, C.262). Dirt and green patination, very fine/fine.
