MAXIMIANUS, (A.D. 286-305 first reign), AE follis, Heraclea mint, issued A.D. 297-8, (9.554 grams), obv. laureate head of Maximianus to right, around IMP C MA MAXIMIANVS P F AVG, rev. around GENIO POPV L I ROMANI, Genius standing to left, holding patera and cornucopiae, HT**G* in exergue, (cf.S.3631, RIC 19b). Attractive, with trace of silvering, nearly extremely fine.
