FRANCE, Provence, Robert the Wise, (A.D. 1309-1343), as count of Provence, struck at Avignon (1330-1339), silver gigliati, obv.seated ruler on throne facing holding orb with cross and sceptre, around +ROBERT DEI GRA IhR ET SICIL REX, rev. floriated cross, with lis in each angle, around COMES PUINCIE ET FORCALQERII, (Rolland 51a [p.216], CNI XIX, 99 [p.32, cf.Plate II, 22]). Bright, nearly extremely fine and rare.
