SOUTHLAND TREASURY NOTE, specimen issue one pound, Payable at the Treasury Invercargill, not dated (c.1865), or numbered, imprint of Fergusson and Mitchell, Dunedin, (L.-, P.-, Sutherland 255 [p.184], Robb PTU 16a [p.38], [illustrates p.43 a five pound note]). With light folds and creases, several small worm holes, otherwise nearly very fine and excessively rare.

Sutherland (p.184) suggests 1863-?. They were issued by the Provisional Government of Southland.
