CHARLES I, (1625-1649), silver Royalist badge, (struck c.1649-1660), cast very slightly chased with ring for suspension in imitation of engraving, 32x23mm, by Thomas Rawlins but not signed, obv. bust of Charles I to left, hair long in falling lace collar, around CAROLVS D G MAG BRI FR ET HB RX, rev. incuse Royal arms with the Garter, (M.I 234 [p.361] and Pl.XXXII, 12; Eimer -). Very fine and very rare.

Ex S & B Coins (UK), September 1994 (M116). This Royalist badge one of about forty different types produced between 1649-1660 commemorate the Stuart family and were worn by Royalists who wished to pay tribute.
